Sunday Morning Services start at 10am. You are welcome.
he FORTIFIES us in our frailties
“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God” (Romans 8:26-27).
The Lord proves faithful! Oh, may we continue to cast our concerns upon His enduring and gracious shoulders! Our family has experienced the provision of the Lord in such an abounding way recently – oh, how I rejoice!! All glory to His great name!
Confidently waiting on the Lord, Highland, results in our hearts being empowered by the strength of His Spirit. It’s tricky, because in our waiting, we often sharply feel our weaknesses, yet, when we entrust Him in the middle of our frailties, His strength is perfected in our weaknesses! Incredible!
Even in feeling our infirmities and weaknesses, as we hold fast to Him, the Holy Spirit’s strength overrides our frailties, even in the depths of our being! We then find a fortitude that’s not our own. We can press on in His will, realizing His purposes for us – especially through our darkest days!
Myself & Mr. Page
Nancy’s Father, Mr. Lynn Page, Has Passed Away
As I write about how the Lord fortifies us in our weaknesses, the Sheek family comes to mind. Nancy has lost her father, Mr. Lynn Page. Not only was he a man who loved and served Highland Community Church, he was a man who had a tremendous impact upon my life. Mr. Page was an actual conversationalist. He was a man that actually spoke his thoughts clearly and wanted to hear your thoughts about a matter. He paid attention to detail and, when presented with problems, he always wanted to work toward solutions!
Oh, how I loved him! My last conversation on the phone with him was one in which I was able to express my abounding appreciation for him! So thankful that the Lord afforded us that moment! Nancy, know that Highland is rallying around you and your family in love, prayer and in support right now. Call on us if you need us, please. Know that we love you and your family, Nancy.

our series through matthew
Last Sunday, we walked through what Jesus means in describing that those who come to repentance are to be salt and light in this world. This quote offers a solid framework to recapture last week’s sermon:
“The glory of the gospel is when the church is absolutely different from the world, she invariably attracts it. It is then that the world is made to listen to her message, though it may hate it at first.”
– Martin Lloyd-Jones
Last week’s sermon is available online. To listen, check out our audio page.
Casey, others, thank you for serving.

Games are underway! Check out our game schedule and come when you’re able! Also, volunteering would be a tremendous help. Consider how you might be part of this incredible ministry.
Highland cafe’
The Highland Cafe continues to open wide our doors with a welcome from Jesus Christ and a warm cup of coffee. Each weekday morning from 8:30-11:30 offers you the chance to come and serve our neighbors, in honor of our Lord. You can also enjoy a cup of coffee, too! Come, serve and be served, all, in the name of Christ Jesus. Furthermore, snacks and coffee essentials, like cream and sugar, would be most appreciated.
Thank You, Brenda!
A HUGE thank you to Brenda Steele for sharing her gifting as a hairstylist in our Highland Cafe this past Monday! Brenda offered free haircuts to anyone who wanted to receive them. A fresh cut always feels lighter and is a great boost to start off the week. Brenda plans to come back in a few weeks to share her talents again so be sure to check back for future dates!
