Our Weekly Update

thank you, Robert!

I heard such great feedback from many of you about Robert’s message on faith. Robert’s joy over salvation in the name of Jesus pours forth, especially as he talks about God’s Word! Great job, Robert. Thank you!

Our family enjoyed such fun getaway. We were in Atlanta and enjoyed some Wiffle Ball in the Mercedes Benz Stadium. Will probably never have that moment come again. We were able to pack so much into such a little bit of time!

As Noah’s in his senior year, we are hoping to make as many family memories as possible right now. As we sense the winds of change are blowing for our family, we are hoping to seize every opportunity to be together. We have quite a few getaways planned this fall, which we are looking forward to.

This Sunday, I will be back in the pulpit. We continue with our series through Daniel. We are starting chapter three this week. Join us, as we journey to the plains of Dura and encounter the boldness of three men, who stood up for the name of our holy God, literally! Please make sure to bring your Bibles. I cannot guarantee that I can fit all of the text onto our handout.

Fall Back this Sunday

Highland, this Sunday we fall back. Grab that extra hour of sleep, then let’s plan to gather, offering the Lord our gratitude over another day together, as He is the giver and sustainer of life!

Throughout the Week

Mondays @ M2540, 6:30pm

Our partnership with M2540 continues to be carried so well by our team. Thanks, all, who remain so devoted to loving our neighbors, in honor of our Lord. Volunteers are always welcome - 6:30pm-7:30pm, Monday evenings.

Wednesdays, 9am

As our team gathers to pray this Wednesday at 9am, realize that this work of the church is a vital ingredient to the life of Highland. As we pray, let us ask the Lord to transform us by the power of God’s holy nature. All are welcome to attend at 9am, Wednesday mornings. Our team gathers at the Firehouse.

Marriage Study this fall, Wednesdays, 6:15pm

Our marriage study continues to be such a rich experience for us all. Looking forward to seeing all of you who’ve registered this Wednesday, 6:15pm. Thank you, Sheeks!

Boxes of Love Collection: Dish Soap

Highland fam, as we are moving toward Christmas, one practical thing you could do is buy a bottle of dish soap for Boxes of Love. Please bring it with you to service on Sundays, as we will store it there. With Boxes of Love, we allow folks to sign up and offer a Box of Love to someone in their lives to bless them this Christmas Season. Thanks for your support!

Throughout the Weekend

Chicken & Rice, Saturdays, 10am

This Saturday, our team will hit the streets with the love of Christ, as they serve those who are hungry. Volunteers are welcome. To each dedicated team member, thank you for all you do.

Sunday Mornings at 9am

The coffee will be warm and the conversation will be lively this Sunday during Coffee & Conversation. It starts at 9am in the Firehouse. All are welcome to come and gather, as we look to Jesus as our only hope, altogether. Jo Ellen’s devotion always helps us move through our days in agreement with God’s Word. All are welcome. Additionally, Robert continues to lead our Men’s Study. All men are welcome to join in Sunday mornings, at 9am. The study is held in the educational building of our church.

SUNDAY MORNINGS AT 10AM

Our church service (we call services “Firehouse Gatherings”) are held each Sunday morning in the Firehouse (3402 6th Ave). All are welcome, as we gather to exalt the name of Jesus, in one accord.

KIDS’ SUNDAY November 12th

Kids’ Sunday will take place Sunday, November 12th, this month. On November 12th, please drop off your children who are 5 and up at the original sanctuary to get checked in. During the service, children will either be in the classrooms off the deck for a Bible lesson or a craft. Outdoor games will be held in the Stricklands’ backyard as well. Furthermore, if you’re interested in helping with Kids’ Sundays, please talk to Julie Jordan, Katie Sturgeon or Carol Wright. As soon as service concludes, please make arrangements to pick up your children.
