Communion Service This Sunday.

This Sunday is a first Sunday, which means that we will hold Communion. Julie Jordan will be assisting with the facilitation of our service.

We will also open chapter 4 of our series through the Book of Philippians. In these final statements, Paul, once again, blends an offering of encouragement with instruction to give to the Church of Philippi. We will examine how the encouragement and instruction he offers flows out of a singular desire from His heart - that being - to know the Lord and to make Him known. How does he go about making this desire known? ‘Just one thing - live in a manner worthy of the gospel…’

After encountering Christ as Lord, Paul’s life became his sermon. In chapter 4, we see that he was beyond allowing circumstances to become opportunities to write sermon points. Rather, Paul’s life “preached” Christ through whatever circumstances or conditions he encountered:

I don’t say this out of need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know both how to have a little, and I know how to have a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content — whether well fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need. I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me. Still, you did well by sharing with me in my hardship.
— Philippians 4:11-14

Join us, as we start to wind down our series through Philippians, bringing our attention to: ‘just one thing - living a life worthy of the gospel of Christ.’

I love you.
