Highland, Our Family’s Christmas was one to remember. So many invaluable gifts were afforded to us by the Lord this Christmas Season. The kind of gifts that could only be imparted by way of the Lord’s goodness. With all of the darkness that persists throughout our lives, I was refreshed in the presence of the everlasting Light of our Lord this Christmas Season. My confidence in the fact Light, Himself, has come into this world and prevails has been emboldened. May our hope in Christ Jesus, the Light of the World, be brightened altogether, Highland! One of Patti’s favorite parts about Highland is how the light of Christ Jesus shines so brilliantly throughout our dark world! How she celebrated our streaming of the light of Christ into our streets! In Christ, she, herself, boldly bore the name of Jesus throughout our streets – a blazing torch for the glory of God and for the good of our neighbor! Highland, let us continue to blaze for His name – in our hearts and in our homes – throughout Highland! Let us continue to submit our lives to the holy fire of His presence, being holy as He is holy. Patti’s Memorial Service this Saturday, 11am. Patti’s Memorial Service is this Saturday (tomorrow), at Highland — at 11am. Come, ready to worship Jesus, reflect upon and celebrate the life and legacy of Patti Clark, hidden in Christ! Let’s be prepared to reflect upon her life in a way that offers strength to the family and speaks hope unto them. Boxes of Love To those who helped make Boxes of Love such a bold expression of love, thank you! Dropping off a Box of Love to one of our neighbors led to a phone call from him; he thanked us with everything in him. The tremble of gratitude in his voice, Highland, is the reason we hold Boxes of Love! Good work! Let’s continue to be radically generous, Highland, while we promote the glory of our Lord. Let us continue to cultivate the truth that ‘it is more blessed to give than to receive.’ To the Roper Family, know that I am so grateful for ALL you do to make Boxes of Love such a joyous ministry. You mean so much to me, to Highland, to so many around our city! Sunday’s Service Sunday Morning Schedule This Sunday, I will have the privilege of leading us in worship and preaching. We will also return to our journey of reading through the Psalms together. David and Kimberly, thank you! You both did a wonderful job leading us through the Advent Season. As I return to the pulpit this Sunday, I will pick up in Matthew where David left off; we will continue through the Gospel of Matthew. Kingdom Sports Kingdom Sports is now just around the corner! This basketball league will be a trail blazed right through our community for the name of Christ. Let’s pray for these children and their families as they hear the Gospel! May they come to repentance, walking in the light of the Lord’s presence all of their days. There’s still opportunities to serve. Sign up to volunteer through our website. So grateful to the Wright Family and their team for all they are doing! Know that I am praying for you. I love you. You matter so much to me, Highland. Grateful to share life with you, Rob
